Brigid Schulte wrote an article about the Vick Dogs and Recycled Love for the Washington Post!
Recycled Love has been awarded custody of three dogs formerly owned by Michael Vick. We would like to thank the United States Attorney's Office, Judge Hudson and the USDA in responding to the public outcry for giving these dogs a chance for survival. We would like to commend Professor and animal law expert Rebecca Huss of Valparaiso University, who was appointed as Special Guardian/Master of the dogs. Her comprehensive evaluation and placement of these dogs was extraordinary.
These dogs have been evaluated by the top behaviorists in the country... A special thank you to ASPCA, BAD RAP and Best Friends for your work in evaluating these dogs on an individual basis. It has hopefully set a precedent for escaping an automatic "death sentence" for these voiceless victims.
Recycled Love chose to apply for these dogs, as these dogs are representative of what happens in Baltimore City on a daily basis. We could no longer ignore the plight of pit bulls.
We adopt all of our animals to homes that will demonstrate responsible pet ownership.
Recycled Love's video submission for stopping animal fighting was a runner up and received honorable mention. Our video was entitled Stop Dog fighting Now. We urge you to report any animal abuse or suspected dog fighting to the local law enforcement. Thank you for caring about the animals!
